Journalism Downunder

Articles are sought for publication in the April 2007 edition of Pacific Journalism Review. This themed edition is being published in association with the combined Journalism Education Association (JEA) and Journalism Education Association of New Zealand (JEANZ) conference Journalism Downunder: the future of the media in the digital age at Auckland, Aotearoa/New Zealand in December 2006. The editors will be seeking a selection of conference papers with particular relevance to New Zealand and the South Pacific and the edition will be complementary to Australian Journalism Review: Topics of particular interest include:
- Regional industry perspectives on digital media
- Community media perspectives
- Tangata whenua perspectives
- Pasifika perspectives
- Radical and alternative media perspectives
- Vernacular language perspectives
- Newsroom convergence strategies
- Innovative digital media training programmes
Articles on other topics related to media and journalism theory and practice may also be considered. The journal has four main sections: research articles, commentaries, forum and reviews.
